The Eco Impact of Beer
Saturday, July 19: 2-4pm
at Twin Cities Green

How green is your beer? Come to this workshop and compare the eco-footprints of larger beer companies, microbreweries and home-brewing. Expert brewers will also demonstrate how to brew your own beer.

EcoTuesday is a forum to network, collaborate, and engage with socially responsible business leaders. The evening's structure includes an interactive dialogue and features a visionary speaker from the sustainable business world. Additionally, everyone in the room has the opportunity to introduce themselves - which means that everyone else has the opportunity to learn more about what they're interested in. EcoTuesday attracts a diverse group of sustainable business leaders involved in a wide variety of interests and fields.

TOUR OF THE RAMSEY-WASHINGTON METRO WATERSHED DISTRICT OFFICE AND GROUNDS:  Bring the whole family out on the evening of Wednesday, July 23 to tour a facility that was designed inside and out to reflect the importance of appreciating and caring for the environment.  Learn about the construction and operation of the green features of this building, how elements of the grounds and facility were planned to draw attention to the natural world, and network with others working in the environmental field. The tour will include activities appropriate for youth ages 6 and up. A picnic dinner will be served.

2008 Twin Cities Lead Tackle Exchange Event: The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is sponsoring summertime lead fishing tackle exchanges. The exchanges provide anglers a chance to try out non-toxic jigs and weights made by Minnesota companies.

Residents can bring in their old lead tackle and swap it out for jigs or weights made of bismuth, tin, tungsten or steel. This will help prevent lead poisoning of loons, eagles, and other wildlife.
